이날 나눔 캠페인을 통해서 코로나 19로 말미암아 바깥외출이 제한되어 있으며 집안에서만 활동하시는 재가 어르신들께 치아 영양제 및 치아 관리 용품을 지원하고 후원금을 전달하는 등 이웃들과 정을 나누는 기간을 가졌다.
우리는 살면서 다체로운 치과 요법이 요구되는 상황을 마주한다. 스케일링이나 미백, 혹은 충치 등 치아에 문제가 생겨 이를 치료하기 위해 치과를 방문한다. 하지만 이들의 경우 존재하고 있는 혹은 아직 기능적인 문제가 심각하지 않을 때의 치유 방법에 해당한다.
여러 개의 이를 발치한 뒤에는 미관상으로도 보기 좋지 않을 뿐만 아니라, 음식을 씹는 저작 능력에도 문제가 생길 수 있다. 그럴 때 필요한 수술이 브릿지 치유, 틀니, 임플란트 등으로, 그중 임플란트가 실제 치아와 유사한 모양에 적용구적인 효능을 볼 수 있다.
보철학회 회장 A씨는 “코로나바이러스로 어려운 상태이 지속되고 있지만 학술활동은 지속돼야 한다”면서 “학회 회원은 물론 치과인 다체로운분의 대부분인 참여를 바란다”고 이야기 했다. 아울러, 요번 학술대회는 치협 보수교육 8점과 보철학회 보수교육 10점이 인정된다.
